NEWQUAY CC
Welcome to Newquay Cricket Club. We are pleased to offer senior cricket of a good standard for players from the age of 13 to 60+. We also run a junior section - see below.
We play at the Newquay Sports Centre which boasts excellent facilities, not only for cricket. We particularly welcome anyone from other sports who may wish to play cricket and especially ladies - we will be concentrating on this aspect for 2012.
The new 1st XI captain for 2012 is Chris Willett who looks forward to the challenge in Division 1. Captains for the 2nd, 3rd & 4th teams will be decided at the Spring Meeting in March. In the meantime Winter nets will be running throughout January to April so please contact Nigel Dawes, below, for information.
Our new covers arrived in July 2011 and a superb electronic scoreboard was installed in August 2011. Funding for these long-awaited improvements was secured after months of hard work by club members and the remaining project - the extension of the outdoor net facility - will be addressed again in the close season.
Youth teams at Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 age groups play in the Kernow league - new players are always welcome. Training sessions, now ended for this year, took place on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Contact Nigel Dawes for all youth matters. See Below.
Contact Nigel Dawes (Hon Secretary) on 07837 502 375 / 01637 854876 or Dave Eggins (Chairman) on 07740 049 324 for more information. Updated 20 December 2011.
